Can we use Static Electricity for electricity?

Unfortunately we do not use static electricity to power our homes. There are several reasons for this. One, because static electricity would not be able to supply the human demand for this amount of electricity. Two, because even when it does work, static electricity is not very powerful, and the effects wear off very quickly.
